SOLAR ACTIVITY UPDATE:Grand Filament More Than 700000km (Nov 12th, 2011).

GRAND FILAMENT: A filament of magnetism more than 700000 km long is curling around the sun’s northeastern limb. The filament is weighted down by solar plasma. If it erupts–as such filaments are prone to do–it could fall to the stellar surface below, setting off an explosion called a Hyder flare. Or it might fly upward, hurling fragments of itself into space.

Hay disliker…you missed this video…its not? fair you tag all my videos with a dislike and not do this one, beside I know that your with the SDO…You thumb down every video solarwatcher, DrKstrong and mine…so when you didn’t do it to this one…I think there is something wrong….Hope you are all right…lol…or did you forget this one…Peace!

Outstanding. Great work. I am respecting these videos more and more.? Took me 3.5 hrs to do my last one. Captures and production. Yours are always well put together with great info. Cheers and thumbs up.

Thanks for the great videos. I have a question. Do you have imagery for the past three months to be able to create a time lapse of longer duration? it may be interesting to watch the activity of the past months up to today to have an idea of the sun’s activity over a longer? time. keep up the awesome work.

  9. Skyywatcher88 says:

@mbslaade lol…Thats almost a story in? its self….Hope it was a good laugh…coffee is my breakfast everyday…I’ll keep them coming as long as you all keep watching…lol…Hope your weekend is going well….Peace!

  10. Skyywatcher88 says:

@SolarWatcher Looks like the sun died today…almost flat-lined…lol…The CME impact seems to have been weak, but there? is a big filament that cold erupt in the days ahead…This one could be worth keeping an eye on…Hope your having a great weekend…Peace!

  11. mbslaade says:

My neighbor was over for coffee. I did my morning view of your solar? update and he laughed saying ..”…I always wondered why you listen to that song every morning” hehe Thanks for keeping us posted!

  12. PIXIESTITCH says:

thanks for the updates. you and solarwatcher are the best in the biz. cool? to see you guys are buds. take care and thanks again.

was that a massive spot on the back? looks bigger than all the others put together…great vid, as always, peace? all
    xD

  14. SolarWatcher says:

    @Skyywatcher88 take care my? friend

  15. Skyywatcher88 says:

@SolarWatcher I just saw that, Bz south…should be good…some upcoming updates may be slow coming, due to the holiday and weekend. Thanks for? the comment….Peace!

  16. SolarWatcher says:

G1 geomagnetic storm expected in the next 6 hours,(Kp5) impact from the earth directed CME created a strong? shock on the earths magnetosphere, Bz component showed a strong dip southerly ( -7) … Kp index should show some action in this upcoming update or the one following

  17. Skyywatcher88 says:

SUN FACTS:During a 75-year period beginning in 1645, astronomers detected almost no sunspot activity on the sun. Called the “Maunder Minimum,” this event coincided with the coldest part of the Little Ice Age, a 350-year cold spell that gripped much of Europe and North America. However, new? estimates determine that the change in brightness was perhaps not enough to create this global cooling.

  18. Skyywatcher88 says:

@1NFAM0US0NE At this point, it more than likely would not be Earth directed. If it erupts in a few days time when its more square with? Earth, than we could see some thing in the way of auroras again in Arkansas. Something along the Kp=5 to Kp=7 depending if the magnetic field tips south.

  19. 1NFAM0US0NE says:

@Skyywatcher88 if it sets? off a hyper flare (a more extreme normal flare?) would it or could it be earth directed and what would/could it do? thanks
